PRS SE CU24 & Power Out of Phase on a Super 5-way blade

Oookay.

So I'm a new here, and I ain't lurked that long.
(At least I don't REMEMBER posting here. But I did have a stroke 5 years ago at the ripe age of 19 and my memory ain't what it used to be a mere six years ago)

Anyway. I have a PRS SE Custom 24. Three-way blade, push-pull, Korean - Made Vintage Bass and Howls, Farts, Shreiks pickups. Well, I decided the other day that I want me some Duncans for this hyar axe. Really thinking about a four conductor Eclair Set. Light age gold covered neck, light aged zebra bridge (with gold screws)
Problem is, I don't want to use triple shots, but I DO want the '85 to '89 OLD rotary options, especially the aforementioned Power out of Phase sound.

Can you help me out here, or am I dreaming?

If it helps, I have got an image of the old wiring diagram.RotaryWiring85to89.jpg

Thanks Muchly.

The simple way to get the sound that you want is to add another push pull and use the above wiring slightly amended. This works when you select the neck pup . Selecting bridge when PP is up acts as a kill switch which you may find useful. The diagram is actually for a 2 vol pot guitar . For the SE the wire marked going to the bridge vol pot is just wired instead to the 3 way blade.

I am a great fan of the OOP/SERIES sound and have this mod on many of my guitars and have also fitted it to many friends guitars.

I hope this helps.

NOTE Make sure pickup grounds are kept seperate from circuit grounds

You need to make sure the coil tap grounds to the circuit grounds and not to the pick up/pot grounds. I usually do this by connecting all circuit grounds together and then having a single wire going to the OOP/series PP . I hope this makes sense.

When both PPs are up and selector is in neck position you will get (from memory) inner coils in series and out of phase.

Of course when the OOP/Series PP is down all grounds are connected and the guitar behaves as before.

Well Hot Toddies!
That's two of my favorite PRS sounds right there. And without a godawful five-way anywhere near my guitar.
You are the MAN (or WO-MAN, as the case may be)!
If I am ever in England, I will buy you a beverage of your choice.

Thanks for the comment but I am very far from worthy of such an allocade having regard to the many highly competent gurus who regularly contribute to this forum. I am merely a gentleman of senior years still heavily addicted to all aspects of guitars (and possibly also slightly to hard liquor) who is very happy to pass on what limited information he has.

Well, I reiterate my thanks. Do you like Scotch? Me, I'm partial to Laphroaig 10 year cask strength.
