H/H coil split with 5 way switch (H, S, SS, S, H)

Hello all:
I am contemplating installing a HH pickguard for my strat and interested in splitting the humbuckers using a 5-way blade switch with 1 volume and 2 tones. I am going after the following arrangement:

Pos. 1: Neck HB series
Pos 2: Neck HB split
Pos 3: Neck & bridge humbuckers split
Pos 4: Bridge humbucker split
Pos 5: Bridge HB series

I searched on this forum and found some discussion about getting the middle position the way I am wanting, but haven't seen a diagram that shows it, I don't think. Most of the time it seems like the middle position is the two humbuckers together, not split. I found this diagram on the SD support page and am wondering if the middle position is the two humbuckers together here. If so, what would I need to do to make them the two split coils of the neck and bridge together?

Any help is appreciated.

Be easier with push pulls and a 3 way switch and then you can individually control the split on each pickup and have the following additional combinations:
HB neck + split bridge
HB neck HB bridge
Split Bridge + HB neck

Split bridge + HB neck is my favourite - tele custom type sound

That is a good idea I had not considered. The only downside is I would have to buy the push/pulls and the 3- way switch but it may be worth doing if I get motivated. Thanks!

I am pretty sure a regular 5 way can't do that. You are going to need a Super Switch.

I should have mentioned that I do have a spare super switch on hand...I'll hunt around and see if I can find a diagram anywhere online. Thank you.

That diagram would be the first link in my post. FWIW, I have a strat with 2 hums set up for series, parallel, both parallel, parallel, series. For what you are looking for, you can get there with either, but the Megaswitch E-model would be the easier to hook up, I've used those in the past with great results.

I feel remiss- I didn't even click your links when you originally posted because I thought they were links to sites where I could purchase an Oak Grigsby or a mega switch... thanks for the diagrams and the advice.

Rumblebox, thanks! I wish I understood this well enough to just draw it out...maybe someday.

Many thanks.
