  • have a fat strat? what HB in the bridge do you have?

    speaks for itself really ^.^

fat strat pickguard arrived in the post this morning.. the antiquities are staying! hehe im looking for a relatively versatile 'bucker tone, but more weighed towards lighter radiohead sorta tones (yeah, ok, they use teles, but the same sort of application )

soo.. i think its an alder body. '93/4 MIF strat. if you have a really strong opinion for (or against ) a particular model, i'd like that too

    thanks, guys

EDIT - bugger, took too long setting up the poll and it ran out of time

I've got a Bill Lawrence L-500XL in the bridge of my Fat Strat, if you wanted a Lawrence I would suggest something more like the L-500L, little less output, I think it would be good for what you described...
I really like mine, mainly used for metal, but also grunge, and any other kinda rock is required of me.

Could you guys tell me what is the difference between a Fat Strat and a normal strat? is just the pups?

I´ve just bought an American deluxe in Spain, where they are damn expensive, and I wanted to know...

              Answer would be really appreciatted.

Fat Strats have Humbuckers in the bridge position.

I have a JB in the bridge, a Hot Stack in the mid and a lil59 in the neck of mine.

I have a PATB-1 Original Trembucker. It's a great pickup for strat - well balanced, and thickens up an otherwise somewhat thin tone.
