I bought a G&L Legacy (Strat-style) last week. While it's a great playing axe, it just sounds way too much like a Strat. The only worthwhile sound on a Strat is the neck position, IMO.
I have a MIM Tele that plays and looks bad. It sounds amazing though. It has a Quarter Pound set. I'd like my G&L to sound like it or something close. I'm open to single coils, but I don't think I'm going to pull that sort of ballsiness out of a SC Strat pickup, even the QP's. I don't want to hack this guitar or it's pickguard up. If what I'm after can't be found in SC form, I'll sell the axe.
Anyway. QP? Twangbanger? Lil bucker? Any ideas? Thanks.
