  • Replace Mags in vintage Strat pups

I have read that in vintage strat pups the winding wire is in direct contact with the magnet poles. Therefore, moving the poles can damage the windings. Does anyone know WHAT vintage this issue may effect ('62 & older, '66 & older, etc.) And are there procedures to follow. Thanks for any help! Also, are vintage mags AII's and where can I buy a staggered set?

I believe this applies to most vintages of old pups. I was told here on the forum that modern-day ssl-1 Strat pups (they are Vintage by name only though) are made the same way too.
