OK, I just got an EC400AT (archtop). I love it, it's awesome. My question is what do the screws in the pickups do--pole adjustments?? It has a JB/59, chrome covered with the 6 screws in them.

those are adjustable pole pieces, used for balancing string to string volume. raising a pole piece will increase the volume of that stringComment
