  • A JB / Jr. with rails instead of screws , would that make it a Hotrails pickup

Since most of the single coil humbuckers have a ceramic mags in them and the Hotrails and JB/Jr. are pretty close in output , could there be much difference in tone ?
I would like to have a JB/Jr. but I'm not in love with the tiny double rows of micro size screws , would much rather have rails .
So after looking at the Hotrails and the JB / Jr. they both have a ceramic mag and pretty close in output so I'm wondering is it pretty much the same pickup but one with screws and the other with rails .

I don't have the knowledge to explain why but it's probably in here https://seymourduncan.zendesk.com/hc...Digging-Deeper

My first assumption would be signal decay.

If you’re asking whether the two pickups sound similar, then not really.

To me, they are very different sounding pickups. I don't know if you can boil it down to simply 'this magnet sounds this way'.
