  • ESP direct mount pickup question

    Good day Players!
I just bought an ESP/Ltd M-HT with a direct mount SD Black Winter and I’m wanting to swap that with an SH-13 Dimebucker. I’ve bought a Metric CTS 500k pot for proper fit,(no drilling).
does the newerESP/Ltd guitars that are direct mount does the screw go straight into the wood or is there a metal threaded insert for accepting a machine screw?
I won’t be using the ring that comes with the Dimebucker but in my experience with direct mount pups it’s screw into the wood. Sucks.
    Thanks in advance!!

Both the newer and older LTDs I have the screws go directly into the wood, no adaptor.

Id love to hear what differences you hear when the swap is complete!

Though it wasn't esp/ltd, the last import with direct mount I took apart had the rubber foam so heavily glued to the baseplate of the pickup that I couldn't remove it in one part, so I'd have some suitable foam at hand, just in case...

Use the foam that comes with the pickup.
