Hello all.
I've been using a SM-1b in the neck of a solidbody MIJ telecaster combined with a Tapped Hot for Tele lead for years. This guitar has a steel, 3 saddle bridge, a maple fingerboard, and a basswood (I think) body. This combo balances well and sounds great for rock, especially at the bridge. Recently, though, I've been wanting to get a bit more snap and twang from the bridge spot. The tapped setting on the STL-2 is almost what I want, but I feel like I'm missing something. With this in mind, I purchased a Jerry Donahue lead pickup.
I *really* like the Firebird mini bridge pickup at the neck and was wondering if the Jerry Donahue would be loud enough to balance well with the SM-1b. I suppose I could get a SM-1n if it isn't, but the current pickup at the neck works so well that I'm hesitant to change it.
