  • Did Bill Lawrence USA go belly up?

I can't seem to find a working website for them anymore. Becky & Shannon's website is still up.

Come to think of it, it has been at least a year since I've seen any advertisements.

I'd always got to Wilde for the real thing from Becky & Shannon - unless it were a model they don't make anymore.
BL USA is run by Bill Lawrence's ex-business partner and did offer some models you can't get from Becky.
Always had a crappy website as I remember. Maybe upgrading? Maybe defunct.

The thing is, that guy hadn't anything to do with Bill in decades, other than profiting from his older designs.
Without sharing those profits with Bill himself AFAIK.

RIP Willi Lorenz Stich aka Bill Lawrence, an underappreciated hero of pickup design & guitar electronics.

Both websites were poorly laid out the last time I looked.

Okay - who has any Bill Lawrence pickups of any kind for sale right now?
Lawrence USA or Wilde (from Becky) will be fine.
I'm looking to stock up on a number of them.
I don't want used stuff - I want new in the original packaging, if you don't mind.
I really want from of the EB-50 pickups for bass.

Yes - I'm watching Squeebay and Treeverb, too.

Wonder if Wilde might be able to take all the BL USA stuff back in house?

Becky & Shannon moved to Georgia awhile back. Haven't heard a lick from them for a bit. Radio silence from the USA guys.

The site for BL USA is up. Not sure what’s up with their silence to your inquiry.

I just ordered from Wilde. Never tried the other guy. I’m pretty happy with my duncan stash, but an ‘81 and a l500XL is not a bad thing to have around.
