Changing to an A5 will mostly reduce the fizzy, brittle high end and reduce the output. It will sound much "cleaner". Changing to an A8 will do similar to the tone but keep the output similar to the ceramic. I think the the DD sounds terrific with the A5 and is much more versatile.

IT'S 90% CORRECT.
The EQ is correct, the output is correct...
But it just feels a tad gritty to play. I'm suspecting 'cos of the ceramic magnet.
So with that in mind...now I'm considering a magnet swap.
What impact would swapping out the ceramic magnet for an Alnico have in a DDn?
