  • Help with drawing… SSH, Push pull HB split, blender HB with neck, master tone

I’m struggling to do a drawing to wire up my strat…
    It’s SSH
Single sized Seymour Duncan HB IN BRIDGE
    super switch
Push pull HB split at volume pot
Master tone pot for all pickups
Blend pot for HB at bridge to blend with the single coil neck

Any one able to help me out?
I think the super switch is tying my brain in knots and that throws me off with everything else.
I understand the super switch but for some reason with the rest of the circuit it melts my brain.

    Welcome to the forum.

You don't need a super switch. Just use a normal 5-way.
If you must use a super switch, then you could just use 2 sets of lugs and leave the other 2 sets empty.

    A Common - hot
    1 - Neck
    2 - Neck
    3
    4 - Bridge
    5 - Bridge

    B Common - hot
    1
    2 - Middle
    3 - Middle
    4 - Middle
    5

Can't edit the post, but just saw you want a blender. That adds a little complication. Don't have a diagram handy for that. Have to search for it.

        Thanks for the help!
I’ll see if I draw it up then post to confirm it

Actually, just to technically correct what I wrote, you'd want the bridge on lug 1, so...

          A Common - hot
          1 - Bridge
          2 - Bridge
          3
          4 - Neck
          5 - Neck

          B Common - hot
          1
          2 - Middle
          3 - Middle
          4 - Middle
          5

            See any mistakes?
            push/pull HB split
super switch with normal 5 way actions (N/N+M/M/B+M/B)
            master tone - all pickups
            HB blend neck and bridge

A little hard to read but looks about right. If the tone is used for all pickups, I would not bother with the complexity of wiring it to the switch and then bridging all the positions. A master tone can be just tapped off the master volume and it would be much cleaner wiring.

The blender doesn't seem to be doing anything. I think you'd need to run the bridge hot through the center lug of the blender before the switch, and have the output side of the blender pot go to positions 5 on the X section of the switch. (I forget which side becomes the output when using a regular pot as a blender - I think it's reverse from normal vol/tone usage? You'll have to test that and work it out)

I haven't done a blender wiring for more than 5 years, so before touching a solder iron to it, I'd strongly recommend just hooking the wires through the lugs and testing it to make sure it does what you think.

A normal 5-way doesn't need to use section "B". All three pups can be on one side. (Like the diagram shows.)
