  • What would be halfway between a PAF Pro and an Evo Neck?

I'm kinda rethinking the Evo Neck on my Les Paul. I'm loving the SDS-1 on my Strat. I would prefer something a bit leaner and brighter on my Les Paul, but not as chirpy as the PAF Pro. Something with more mid bite rather than high-end chirp. I also don't want to lose the output of the Evo Neck. That is perfect.

    So... opinions?

I'm thinking either Dominion Neck, Fred... or what?

The Fred is supposed to be half PAF Pro, half what? Is it Norton?

    Thanks!

I think you are correct, the other half of the Fred is a Norton coil, the Norton is said to be half Fred (the non PAF Pro coil) and half Tone Zone. The Dominion Neck is definitely leaner and brighter, a great pickup if you don't like warm thick neck sounds, and has the clarity of a single, I've also thought a Gravity Storm Neck sounds interesting but have yet to try one, they describe it as having some single coil character, it's also about the same output as the Pro but is an "Air" pickup, as well as Virtual Vintage and Dual Resonance.
