  • Just Installed A SD Jazz and JB In My Friends Gibson Les Paul

My friend has a 2000 Les Paul Standard and we just upgraded his guitar. These pickups sound amazing and his Les Paul will now cover more genres. Excellent tones.

You put a JB in a mahogany guitar and it did not burst into flames?

What were the original pickups? Burstbucker Pros?

The Hot Rod set is a best selling set in the world for a reason.

              Gotcha.

I love the JB, personally, not so much the Jazz. But the JB is a more vesatile pickup than what many people give it credit for.

I had a Jazz in the neck of one of the guitars I had sold or traded off. I usually use a 59 in the neck of my humbucker guitars. I now have to buy at least one Jazz to install in one of my guitars.

I've never got along well with the Jazz, instead I absolutely love the APH, its counterpart with A2

You mean an Alnico 2 Pro? Has a wide round midrange to it and attenuated bass and high treble IME. If it had more treble it would have been one of the best necks for me. But the Jazz as-is was one of my top two neck pickups for 5+ years (the other being a Seth).

The Alnico II Pro is my favorite pickup of all time.
