  • BG-1400 in a strat?

Anyone ever tried a BG-1400 in a strat? I think it should work just fine. Should I use surfers or Texas hots in the other two positions?

Well, aside from mounting being an issue, it should work with the right pickguard holes. If I was going to look for a pickup for the other positions, I'd probably choose a few hum-cancelling ones since the BG1400 is a stack design (maybe the Classic Stack Plus). But if you want to go traditional, the either the Surfers or Texas Hots will work- the Texas Hots will match better output-wise, but I believe they are out of phase with the BG.

i agree the classic stack plus neck and middle would be a good match.

if you wanted to go single coils, i love the surfers

        I have a pickguard made for a Tele pickup. Also I have a router….
I’ll try it with the surfers.

It’s glorious! The best strat bridge “single coil” I have tried. It is out of phase with the antiquity surfers however. I need to swap the wires.
It’s fat and snarly and clear. I might put one in my other strat.

Great news! Maybe they will eventually make one to drop right in a Strat so more people will try it!
