  • S/H project guitar.

I am getting a pick up-less guitar soon.
Inspired by the S/H (Keith Richard style) Tele, i want to transform this HH guitar, into an S/H model.
BUT . . .i want to use a Strat pick up in the bridge (not a Tele unit).
So, my question is, what type of Strat pick up will be able to hang with an SD A2P neck pick up ?
Will an 8.3ko Twang Banger be powerful enough ?
Or would i need to look at something like the 9.8ko Ant Texas Hot ?
. . . or something much hotter, like the Quarter Pound Start ?

I have a STK-S7 on the bridge of an SS Strat, with a STK-S4 in the neck and they balance well together. So if an A2P is similar to a STK-S4 then I suggest a STK-S7, if an A2P is stronger output I would suggest an STK-S6. Personally with an humbucker in the neck I would want to stay hum free.

I think it will balance ok with 500k master volume, and 500k master tone. I never used STK-S6, only the STK-S7.

IMHO, a STK-S7 in the bridge would be too bright for me with a 500K master tone pot, you would need a bright humbucker neck to balance.
I installed a stacked tone pot on my Godin to balance neck and bridge pickups tone. Or I would have the tone pot on the bridge pickup only.

True. For the STK-S7 I put a 510k fixed resistor in parallel with the pickup.
