Hey guys!
I am new here and I really need some help choosing a pickup, and I thought it would be best to ask you guys since you would know first hand about this stuff.
Okay, I dont know how else to explain this so Ill just say that I like playing music with the tones ranging from Thrice to Metallica, to Weezer, and to some typical punk like NoFx, Mxpx, Sum41 and such.
I have an American Std. Strat which I purchased before I went through this 'rock' phase of mine, and I really want to take out my single coil and put a nice bucker in the bridge.
I looked at the JB and the Custom Custom, and was just wondering if those pups or any other pups might fit my needs. I am playing through a Peavey 5150 combo as well. I know I will never get the tone of an SG or anything out of my guitar, but I need something that has bite and can nail the stuff im playing now... my palm muting and pinching sounds horrid!!
