About 10 years ago, there was a great one man boutique business called Chubtone, owned by pickup guru Mike Gray. He basically created period correct Fender pickups that sounded better than the originals. He could wind pickups to different era's of Fender, like 61, 63, 69 etc.
What I have for sale is the set he created for the Hendrix/Blackmore/Malmsteen sound, with reverse staggered magnets to emulate Hendrix's left handed strats.....the difference is hardly audible, but the pickups are voiced nicely. Still vintage spec, but ballsier and handles gain better than 61's and 63's.
I'll have to edit this thread later with actual pics and specs, but here's an internet pic of similar Chubtone strat pickups, as well as the harmony central reviews.
I need to get $120 in a money order. This will include 2 Day Fedex shipping anywhere in the US.
