My $20 Epiphone Les Paul checks out nicely, and plays well. But its original Epi pickups have a more modern voicing (and are a bit mushy to my ear), and I already have guitars like that.

If I can get my hands on some used Duncans for a fair price, I think it would be worth some extra cost.

I'm looking for either AP2H Slash pickups or something fairly compatible. Alnico II, moderate voicing. Well, you know what the pickups sound like.
Wouldn't turn up my nose if something with a similar sound and feel came along.
Looking for black, uncovered, or black or nickel or chrome cover. No white, please, and no gold covers.
