  • WANTED: Seymour Duncan APH-1NJ & APH-1BJ

Looking for original MJ wound APH-1 neck and bridge pickups for my Slash guitar project.
Preferably in black, but zebra will also work.
Must be unmodified and in very good condition.

Let me know if you have anything for sale.
    Thanks

EDIT: Can also offer trades with an original JBJ in black and an original CCJ in black. Both in superb condition and I don't really need those...

I can't believe no one has an extra set lying around. I wish I did for you. I have a pretty good stash and even I don't have any APH-J pickups. Good luck.

APH1NJ could be my favorite neck pickup of all time. Mine resides in a 1988 LP Custom, which was swapped not long after it was new. incredible tone.

Thanks Jeff, that's very kind of you to say!

It's probably that most guys miss these "want" ads. But I'm patient, I'm sure sooner or later someone who has some to spare will see my request.

                      Thanks guys!

You're welcome. For years the APH, but especially the neck, were my go to pickups. At one point I had either 7 or 8 double humbucker guitars and they all had an APH in the neck. This was back in 04'-05' and they had already moved away from identifying the winder on the new stickers. I'm sure some of those were old APH-J's as I bought a lot used. Back in those days, I didn't think about switching out the pups before I sold a guitar, and there wasn't any talk that I recall about MJ wound pickups from pre 2002; other than the old old JB's.

There were a ton of those old sticker pickups around back then.

Sorry, just reminiscing out loud. Now those old MJ wound pickups can bring silly money, and they do sound different; at least some do to my ears.... especially the ones from the 80's when the pickups were more "crafted" as opposed to "manufactured". The new pickups are still great, but some of those old ones have a certain mojo to them.
