yeah the emgs do metal real well, that's what i play. also both teles do metal well too along with toehr things.

they are emg 85s, they are VERY vesitile. the 81 is the metal animal. the 85 is much warmer and more refined and i have no doubt it can do more than just high gain. it has a great clean sound also.

well they do sound a tad different due to the size and where they pick up the string sound from unlike the normal 85s but yeah, they are pretty much just p90 shaped emg 85s. i also have the stock duncan designed p-90 pickups and pots i can give you with it though.
