    i would just get tsome from ebay. they're like 60 bucks new. you have a warranty then. i personally would get a set of customs but you don't like that dist do you?

        heh, oh come on JM pickups are great and would sound good in anything... no one's going to guess what I'm doing

        500 bucks would be useful in this project. It might buy me a bound block neck if I could find one. But I have no clue where the bagel is from

        I figured I would poke around here first... I know that many people would remove theirs in favor of something like humbuckers

        As for that route... I've owned probably four or five axes with humbuckers before, every time thinking I'd like them better if I simply bought a more expensive axe with humbuckers (culminating in a Gibson). I really just never could get the sounds I wanted from them, after trying things as diverse as a 59 and a Distortion... Single coils it is
