  • Scream Aim Fire Cover Mix - 5150 Content (Duncan JB)

Hey folks, long time no see!!! I really need to get back on here more

Finally had time to put a mix together with the latest gear and stuff. Any comments would be appreciated as usual!

Sorry about the band choice, but it made for a good production excercise haha...

Drums need more woof, more lows around 60-80hz, maybe even lower

    The guitar tone is perfect!

More on the tone --- it had tons of definition and was not fuzzy or fizzy.

It was aggressive but not overkill. Very...right.

Way to go, take a picture of how you have your knobs turned!

Evening guys! Thanks for listening both of ya : ) The mic was at 45 degrees to the dust cap on a V30 mesa cab impulse! Definitely takes the fizz out but keeps the best parts of the tone there.

                thanks Vendetta!

Updated mix. Got rid of a fair chunk of low mids from the guitars, upped the bass a tinge and ive changed the kick. A slight reduction on the snappyness of the snare to bring some more of the cunk through. Havent touched the toms as yet though. I think the kick works better than the old on the intro especially. I was thinking of adding the quad tracked guitars back in as the beatdown is a little weak on guitars i reckon.

Kev you sly bastard, i didn't know you were on here!!!

As i said on another board, very good mix/sound, crap band. Lol.

                          * Send me your 5150 now.

EDIT- I didn't realise you had the JB in the bridge, your clips sound tighter than practically every other JB clip i've heard (including when i played on it through a GLP- although the mahogany may account for that) barring maybe Dave Mustaine- but i'm sure there was some studio trickery going on with his tone.

Guitar was my trusty old RG2570EX. Its tight as a ducks ass with a JB in tow thats for sure! I was either going to put a JB or evo in at the time and for some reason decided on the JB - cant remember why though.

I come out of the woodwork here on the odd occassion steve I used to be a regular many moons ago but for some reason havent been back much- i think i'll set it as one of my homepages in firefox and that'll sort me out!
