  • First Attempt at home recording

Well, I finally broke down and picked up a USB interface for my computer, my daughter is singing at her friends wedding this weekend and wanted a backing track for the song. I pulled the acoustic out of the cob webs (I'm sure you can tell) and picked out the tune, then I had her do a vocal track just for fun and then a back up vocal track. Perhaps I can get some tips on eq'ing the vocals (a little harsh - unfortunately there isn't much of a mix down option in Garage Band program I was using). Tell me what you think.

yea, you need to edit the vocals a bit, the SSSSSSSS's are a bit raspy and there's a bit of clipping when she's hitting the high notes/singing with a bit more power).. i thought your daughter is 5 >.<

do a hiss reduction and decrease the amplitude for 3dB on the vocal track and you got a GREAT song, really rally nice

Something in that song makes me want to shoot myself.

Nah, just kidding. You have a beautiful voice. Keep singing.

I agree, it's definetley wedding fodder, not something I would have on my palate of tunes, my daughter cant' stand it either and she has to sing it.
