  • Shred-Fusion improv. - Hey Tee Bone

heres a new recording i made.

the backing track is based on a song called Hey Tee Bone from the album Centrifugal Funk (featuring Brett Garsed, Shawn Lane, Frank Gambale [the kings]).
so i just messed around with it in my own way. there are alot of technical bits so if you dont like that, well... dont!
dont mind the crappy quality i didnt have the nerve to EQ it properly etc.

i used the Kelly on this, the 81b at the start and the in the solo the 89n split.

    reviews are welcome.

    Guitars:
-Ibanez RG2820CTTW Limited Edition (with Dimarzio Steve's Special bridge and Air Norton neck)
    -Peavey Harley Peavey Signature Guitar
    -Admira spanish classical guitar

    Amps:
    - Line6 POD 2.3 Rack with poweramp and cab
    - Marshall 1st Generation Valvestate combo

    Yo Dudu mate,
sorry for running away - my friend waited to me down stairs...

umm... A really nice take!, The 'ol Dudu shred style - I liked it alot.

Your Kelly is really nice, But your Ibanez just RIPS and sounds alot better - and if we're talking fusion she is million light years from your kelly.
    just my opinion.

      thanks Omri my man

the EMG's give a radically different sound, its cool in some spaces. i like the tone i get with my Ibanez more (otherwise i wouldnt have bought it right? lol) but the Kelly has alot of uses.

      see you thursday!

                thanks alot guys
the point here was to mix some heavey technique with good ideas, it came out nicely but theres still alot to work on in terms of phrasing. i do feel i managed to get a cool rhythmic vibe in it however.

my runs for the most part are based on mixed scales. in here i used mixed F Dorian and F Mixolydian alot.

work on new things and attitudes. listen to what im playing and decide what im doing good and what im not. then working on the things i feel i need to improve on. i do play alot of improvisation over band in a box and backing trax etc.
i try to keep it very simple and 'play' more so than 'practice'.

Diminished, how many HOURS A DAY do you practice, and do you think that playing the guitar for you is natural, as I think that you were blessed with the natural ability to shred and play guitar the way you do???

stevooooooo how are you doing bro!! thanks
thats true man, you had your eye on me since i was playing Metallica lol

guitarshredder, i aim to play over 3-4 hours a day.
it realy depends on what you define as "natural", its not like i picked up the guitar and played malmsteen in two days . it is,however, natural to me in the sence that i can use it as an instrument to express feeling/music.
