  • Please forgive me for sounding like Coldplay.

I fear I'm sounding like Coldplay on this one, not intentional really. I wrote the piano part first and I thought it was cool so I just decided to give it a try. It's not my normal style but that's cool.

I'll be updating it as I move along with the recording and mixing.

Start Again - demo. The first track on the player.

I made a bunch of changes in the arrangement and mix, I think it's close now.

LOL, woo...that was a close one! Next I would have some sort of "save the seals" wrist band on or something.

Thanks BBQ and Rid. Those synths can pump that low end for sure.

its good! I like this one more than your last one, I like the main piano - organic - coldplay sounding a little but just cause its looping piano in a minor key doesnt make it coldplay fortunately. I like the keys at the end, makes it sound less looping, I think more breakdowns and less looping/repetitive is good if the song allows. Cool lyrics/vibe.

Thanks everdrone. I thought about changing up the chord progression and maybe a key change but when I set out to write the track I said to myself I would use a repeating four chord progression and nothing more. I always think of pop songs like Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle" and how effective that can be as a format. I like to map out my goals when I write and not deviate from the program. It makes it hard sometimes to come up with something but it pushes me to be creative within a structure.

This is the darkest Coldplay I've ever heard The main piano riff is very Coldplay, but the whole feel and production of the song really reminds me of the Cure or Depeche Mode.

Coldplay after Gwenyth leaves Chris for me! LOL

I'll take The Cure or Depeche Mode over Coldplay.
