Most use Soundclick and mp3's. Or start a Reverb Nation, Myspace, Facebook page.

I use Soundclick, but honestly, Soundclick is a terrible interface.

No direct linking to songs = boo.

Never link a wav unless it's 5 seconds long. Those are huge and usually full-resolution. Use mp3s, set to at least 128K, though 192K is usually not a problem with high-speed internet connections these days.

As for linking, I have a paid hosting service/domain of my own, so I just stick it on my site and link it here.

If you try to attach it to a mesage, that's uploading it to the forum's server, which causes two problems:
          1) It clogs someone else's server, which is bad.
          2) In the event their Terms Of Service is changed to state "whatever you upload belongs to us", then you upload the next "Stairway To Heaven", you've lost all rights to it forever.

No one ever uses wav's for posting clips, but to me MP3's always sound terrible, nothing like a Wav.

And yeah, if you're gonna post Mp3s, at least post up 320Kbps quality stuff.
Anything less and you begin to lose air frequencies
