  • Cold Resistance - Power Of The Eight (melodic death, ENGL Savage, SD 2.0, SH-6b/n)

    Hi guyz,
I'm musician from Ukraine and now I'm mixing one of my projects - Cold Resistance. This will be debut album of Cold Resistance project (melodic death metal).
I've finished all recording sessions and now totally in mixing/mastering of the material.
I'm playing guitar, bass, performing all vocals and, also, do all mixing/mastering work alone. I hope, you can help me with good advice or just listen and write your opinion.
On record sessions I used custom 7-string(local luthier) with SH-6 bridge/neck pickups.
    Thanks a lot,
    Dmitry Gubsky

    Welcome to the forum Dmitry!

Right off the bat, I'll tell you that I'm not into the vocal style that you're using so I can't comment on whether it's good or not. I'm an old fart, lol.

The guitars sound BIG and TIGHT and your mix to me sounds very good. On my system, the instruments have great seperation and I can hear all the little things you're doing in the background, which are very tasty indeed. The drums sound great and the bass is filling nicely. I think it sounds great, bro. Good work. You've got a lot of talent and thank you for sharing that with us.

I like it! I'm a sucker for fast beat type stuff.

Any pics of the custom git?

all sounds good. some vox may have a tad too much reverb (for my ears), but perhaps that's what you're shooting for.

I had a bit of a chance to listen to most of your stuff. Again, not saying it's bad, just not my kind of vocal style but the MUSIC! Holy sheeit dude, I absolutely love Dargoth--Pictures From the Past. In a crazy way, your stuff reminds me of Rush from the Farewell to Kings/Hemispheres era in that it's progressive, tasty use of synthesizers and pretty cool sounding. It doesn't sound anything like that, but it has that kind of spirit if you see what I'm saying. Like the Cygnus X-1 vein. Your guitars are as thick as syrup and so powerful. Great stuff dude.
