I put a full shred in my Washburn Idol WI45. Recorded a few clips today, one children of bodom riff and one original.

      Re: Full Shred

Here are all 3 of my guitars back to back with the same riff recorded in stereo, one after another, exact same settings. The guitars are not exactly identical so this isn't a great pickup test, but at least they are all set neck mahogany. This is essentially Custom 8 vs. Full Shred vs. Custom Sh-5.

the most aggressive is the C8, the smoothest is the FS but that may because less is more sometimes. the SH5 sounds right inbetween all of them.

          Re: Full Shred

the C8 is first and you call tell it is a little louder, not much.
          FS second
and back up in volume a little for the Sh5

i think that C8 has this bell shaped resonance to the mids to upper mids. makes it sounds wide and notched.

i find it best to look at it from far away

Thanks for the request! I've already spent way too much time recording today though, I'll see what I can do later this weekend.

Nice. Listened through all your other clips as well, I like them all quite a bit. Quality riffage.

surface54 cut the riff together so you can hear back to back. Again, not exactly a scientific pickup test. The schecter and agile are superior to the washburn in many ways if you ask me, they have some maple or ebony, respectively, contributing to the tone.
C8 vs FS vs SH5. My schecter with C8 is still my number one, it works beautifully with this amp.

i agree the C8 axe is thickest and overall more metal than the rest.
the washburn seems like its there just not as whole.

sounds great do0d! you have got a complete guitar rig setup that works! most people have a hard time finding that alone.

Thanks, now I just need to record an actual song! I should probably explore those drum parts you sent me and cut something together or use easy drummer. I'm more serious about playing live than recording at the moment, but eventually I'll try to put together one complete song and do some serious recording.
