What interface with 8 or more pre-amped inputs do you guys recommend. I'm looking for like a $200 to $300 used unit.

Presonus FirePod or FP10 (same thing, they had to rename it because of the "pod" thing) if you can use firewire.

Firepod would be my choice, they go DIRT cheap and will be far better than any Line6 offering.

I was actually looking at firepod's. I never looked into the line 6 because all of their products seem to never do what they promise.

we recorded an entire CD with a UX8, did exactly what it promised to do.

The firepod may be better (I will have to take your word for that) and firewire has better throughput (unless you are running USB 3 which the UX8 isnt) but saying that line 6 products never do what they promise is not true.

Are firepods really that cheap used? I just have the pod studio UX2 now and may upgrade at some point.

I've used the Fast Track ultra 8r from MAudio for a while now with minimal issue.
