and I just picked up a Splawn ProMod a few weeks ago and my band finally had a weekend off so I started something new - which for me is usually just reviving an old idea that flithered away to make room for more ideas...
Anyway, I had started this awhile back and figured it would be good to stick the Splawn on and just see how close the Axe FX can get. I like the Axe but at the end of the day for a live situation, I prefer a real amp - much more inspiring. For sitting around recording though, nothing beats the Axe... Anyway - Heil PR30 on a Marshall cab loaded with 2 Tone Tubby 40/40 's and 2 Warehouse Guitar Reapers. Mic was on one of the Tubbys. "Clean" is the Axe.
The other thing is this is a work in progress (as usual) and I write stuff with the end game of having vocals on it - so there is no virtuoso, 5 minute elaborate guitar solos to blow your mind into smithereens. Sorry - just working on tone and mix and structure and haven't pieced together the rest of the song yet.
