  • Testing br00tz with Superior Drummer!

Here's my first attempt to make some metal with SD 2.3. How do you like it?

(and for Everdrone.... now with dat bass )

EDIT: Here's a new take. Better in comparison to the old one?

I think the new one is a bit more even

    Excuse my tacky playing

Great playing and sound. I think it would benefit from having a bit more low end at around between 75-200hz. The only problem I find with Superior is it's too easy to identify as Superior... It's the snare, there's just something about it that gives it away :P

Digging the chords on the second one and the faster runs on the first!

                          Thanks, dudes!

I'll try to tinker with the snare a bit :P And I could add some lows to the 75hz region, I don't like to go up to the 200hz because then the mix starts to mess up the snare sound.

                          Good points, Beer$!

You're welcome. You don't have to change the snare, it doesn't sound bad at all. All I was saying is that the snare models in Superior are instantly recognizable to people who have used Superior.

You don't want to go overboard boosting bass frequencies either. Do not go over 6db of boost. Might I suggest making a little notch between the lows and low mids for seperation? You might like a little boost in the 100hz, it's a bit of a tighter band than the 75-80hz range. But experimenting is half the fun.

Yeah, they all have that distinctive SD sound.

I think 6db can already be a bit of a overpowering boost. I found 110hz to be a fine boost zone.
