  • "Savior of the Mind" (vox, guitar, bass, drums BLACK SABBATH, DOOM C5b/PGn)

Hey yall, new tune with slide guitar and guitar solo and vocals. Going for great Orange amp tones. "Mastered" with Ozone 5. On this one I used my trusty Gibson SG Standard (C5b/PGn) and Rickenbacker 4003 bass. Love those SEYMOUR DUNCAN pickups, using the middle position to activate both neck and bridge for all rhythym guitars, and using the bridge Custom 5 pickup only for the solo. This is my solo project, so I do all guitars/bass/vocals/"drumz". Here is the tune:

edit: deleted the vocals and replaced them with a guitar/wah track, I really appreciated the feedback from my DOOM friends

right on my doom brother! I really love the greasy Texas vibe this has in certain places. I kept wanting you to belt out on the vocals though. They have this very careful 90's rock vibe to them while everything else is unhinged 70's--if that makes any sense.

Dig the riffs and that bass!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! DC RESISTANCE DOES NOT DETERMINE ACTUAL OUTPUT OF A PICKUP.

cool tune - I thought the vocals fit very well, but IMO they just needed to be brought down in the mix a bit and could have used some effects here and there to add some graininess or something. maybe even the ol' singing through the telephone type trick at certain parts.

just my 2 cents, but if the vox are going to be out - consider adding a vocal-type line with a guitar or other instrument where it was.

Thanks brutha, and I appreciate your most excellent feedback. I have thought a lot about this and tried a bunch of effects for an hour - three telephone effects too; I never sing at all for the past few years so I am just not that happy with the singing performance here, maybe I will start practicing and taking lessons in the future. I am gonna start putting a guitar part where the vocals would be for most future songs and this one, cheers
