  • They Eye Of Fire And Fear, Part I -- final mix/master! (prog rock content)

Sorry if this is a double-post/semi-spam, but oftentimes ppl who post in the off topic forum do not come over to this side!

Recorded and mixed by Yours Truly, mastered by Steve Corrao at Sage Audio in Nashville, TN. If you would like to trade likes/links to my new project, please see the links in This thread.

    Thanks for listening!

      awe-some.
Also, your singer's got a little Steve Perry easy vibrato + strong note carrying thing going. Pretty awesome.

youd be suprised! right now I have been listening to BLUES for the last week, and been soloing and working out a solo in the Phrygian Spanish scale... so from doom to anything is possible, just seeking to play new cool stuff and getting more well rounded in the process

Excellent, man! The more you absorb, the more well rounded you will be as a player.

My 2c - the drum sounds are extremely unnatural.

The Steven Slate plugin should be capable of a helluva lot more. If I were you I'd either get the drummer to input the drums using a MIDI capable electronic kit, or if you're set on programming them yourself, you need a LOT more dynamics, or you need to be using the in-built grooves as a platform to build on instead of just populating the grid yourself with the same velocity hit each time. The timing is also too mechanical, it lacks the human "swing" to it.

cool - I like this singer better than the lady (she's not bad, I just like this guy a bit more for the style you do). just steve perry enough to make you go, wow who's that?

probably my fave of the stuff you've posted yet.

Thanks! The entire song, when complete, runs around 50 minutes long. It is a dense piece, for sure, and features 3 VERY long solo/instrumental sections.

The follow up album, which I will begin demo'ing soon, is looking like it will be a little less atmospheric, a little more technical in terms of guitar technique.
