One of my goals with time off from school this summer is to get better at bass guitar. This is the third week and third video of my project. I've been a fan of this band since eighth grade and finally got around to covering them. The bassline in this song switches from a driving hard rock intro to a thick funk in the verses and later mellows out in the chorus. The outro is a different subject altogether. The hardest part about this song was nailing the style (articulation) changes. I found the intro material to sound best plucked hard near the bridge. The funk section sound was achieved with very aggressive plucking over the p-bass pickup. The soft chorus bassline was best played gently over the fingerboard.
