  • Somebody Get Me a Doctor cover - full song w/ backing track

Figured out how to rip tracks from YouTube, thanks to Kramersteen. Now I can murder all kinds of songs....LOL.

    Much better with context!

My only constructive criticism would be to loosen up a touch, dig in a bit more.

I know what you mean. I felt as if I was playing catch up to the track in my headphones as I was recording. Thats why there's a little tight/rushed feel in my playing I guess. It's kind of weird to me to play with phones on and trying to hear my amp at the same time. Something I'll have to get used to.

What interface are you using? Can you direct monitor through it?

Or pull one headphone off...or use speakers. A better understanding of your setup might allow us to help solve that issue.

No interface at the moment. My M-audio crapped the bed.

          Setup for now:

Play to track coming from phone through headphones.
          Amp recorded with ZOOM H4N.
SD card from ZOOM into computer. Guitar track then put into reaper, and synced with the ripped backing track.

I think part of my problem was the track I was playing to, was also the backing track. With no guitar, I was feeling I was off time and rushing.

Im also in the market for another interface and a SM57.

Ah ic. Yeah I think once you get your setup back up and running things will go a bit smoother! The more comfortable you are the better the end result will be!
