  • A Swampy Bluesy tune I just finished.

I had the guitars and drums tracked for a week or so, not really expecting much to happen with this song. So as I was driving to work this morning, listening to a cd I made of some ideas/songs, this song pops up. Words just started to come to me. Which is strange. I never write lyrics, They always sound childish and boring......not that these are grade A, but for me it's not bad. I was thinking of a Cash type thing, but my singing is pretty bad, so I doctored it up with some distortion effects.

Anyway, hope you like my Swampy love song.

I like the vocal distortion, it definitely suits the verse vocal style/phrasing

Sweet! The slide guitar makes a great solo for this song... fits right into the "feel." Good job!

          Thanks guys.

I decided not to put bass on this, to give more of a "front porch" feel. Also the strings on my acoustic are old and deadish. I was going to change them out, but I think they give it a more authentic feel. I mean, what backwoods guitar has brand new strings?

Dig the track. I used that distorted touch to a vocal many decades back. Gave my vocal that megaphone touch to it as well as covering my bad voice. I doubled tracked the vocal and brought in a wow pedal on the second one in the latter part of the vocal. That was interesting.

Great song, it would make awesome sound track music for True Blood.
