  • Rock tune

Rock tune I did in Reaper. Used a plug in for the drums and amp sims for the micd guitar, bass direct. I learned about compression today, really improved the clean guitar sound.

Clint, I love both guitar tones, but I am very interested to know what you used for the distorted guitar. That sound is right in my wheelhouse. Nice work.

Thanks, I was surprised how good the sounds were on the free amp sim. It's called the rockrack. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/p...v3_player.html The sound on the chorus is ENGL Rock Hard and the sound on the bridge is Mellow Leads.

From a mix perspective you still have work to do but the individual tones are fine.

The cleans are too far forward/up. Feels like I need to turn it up when the distortion cuts in. Dirty sounds is cool, reminds me of ZZ Tops Mescalero album.

When you replay the tracks in Reaper, start with them peaking at the same level, then adjust to taste.
