  • my band jammin to Hey Joe'

hey guys...well my "band" consists of just three 16 year olds gettin together to jam......reason i say "band" is because this was our first jam in over 6 mths, so were not very tight and what not......but i think its a kind of cool recording anyways

gear: well my drummer has some old vintage boombox that has a recording option that suprising sounds pretty decent.........we recorded with that, although the mix aint too good, we just pressed record, drums are a bit too loud, cant hear bass and my bass player aint too good (he also didnt now the real bassline to hey joe, that takes a way a coolness from it )........blah blah......

doesnt get good till around 2 mins........so heres just a live version of us jammin to Hey Joe...... i think i maybe got 50% of jimis vibe

I'd Say you got the vibe down better that 50%. That's the Important
thing when your playing Hendrix You remind me a lot like myself
when I was 16 ( But I'll admit your playing is a lot better than me at 16 )
Sounds like your useing your Twin? Them old Twin's sound great!!

I think you guys did a great job and you guys trually know how to just jam and have fun. I wish more bands would do that. You guys are pretty talented IMHO. I've amazed myself more than a few times by seeing how much like Jimi I can get, it's like being posessed; the music takes over!

ah yes, your on the money, actually thats the twin through my marshall 1960A 4X12 cab, i think the lack of bass and and lack of talent from my bassplayer kind of brings the recording down, we'll have to try to get a better mix next time...

Hey Flank, You said in another thread you have a four track !! and a
SM -57 &58. Forget about that boom box and use the 4 track w/t
sterio mics. Set em up about 10 feet from the band, You'll notice
            a BIG difference in sound.

16 year-olds doing Hendrix?? Awesome Sounds good. That guitar sounds sweet and you definitely have the feel.. the drummer does too. Keep it up, you guys are going to be a killer band pretty soon. It's pretty rare for 16 year olds to do something like this.

Cool! Great guitar sound, you using the fuzz face on that? If not, you must have had the Twin cranked 'cause it sounds like it's cookin' the tubes

                      Nice!
