  • A bit of Seth and then a CC...

Arghhhhh...Finaly managed to sit down and record something after a few months:

The first 22 seconds are a Seths and then its a CC onwards.

I sometimes think that the CC sounds like a razor sharp chainsaw with the cutting midrange. Don't know, maybe I'm just getting old...

thanks to journo for the backing track.

      thanks Butch.

Talking about midrange...the man on your avatar gets a really groovey midrange snarl.

Yes he does... He takes all the fun out of scooped mids.

Very nice tone-shaping there Marin. Killer chops as usual. You are definitely brining out some attitude with your playing here Both pickups have their place. I am a bit partial to the Seth, but they both sound great in this tune.

Yeah, they both sound great. The CC just nails the tone for the funk IMO. I'm just thinking Tower of Power here.
              Oh no.....

CC sounds OK..but not nearly as nice as the Seth...it's grainy (the cc)

The Seth sounded very typical Les Paul/PAF ish...sweet..meaty...when the CC cuts in it sounds like a superstrat....a little thin...small (comparitively)..nice tone..but not enough power/balls

I used my custom built LP type guitar:

                      It's on sale, actually.

BTW...didn't mention..great playing..I was so intent on comparing the tones I forgot to mention how much I liked the playing

CC def sounds good, but that Seth is just sick (in a good way)
