  • Sonar question

I have the new version Sonar 5 producer edition. When recording the guitar, am I to assume that the onboard compressors and EQs are as good or better than the Presonus EQ3B and Com16? I'm going to be recording two amps at once and I've got all my mics now, two of the mic preamps and I'm about to buy a two in one preamp, but if I don't need to spend the extra $600 on a compressor and EQ for each channel, I'd like to avoid that. I already have one Presonus EQ & Compressor and they are more than enough in quality for what I'm doing. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not these internal effects are as good as outboard units.

Thanks for any help everyone. Learning all this stuff is coming slow but everyone on this forum is making it a lot of fun.
    My songs....enjoy! (hopefully )

Yeah? That's great. I'm a little older (42) and sometimes I have a hard time believing the incredible things we can get on a little disc that sounds better than a room full of equipment used to 25 years ago. Amazing stuff. What a relief to save the extra cash as well!
