It took 2 months to get this piece to where I wanted it and am pretty happy with the end result.
These piece is composed of 3 voices:
The first voice is a dual bell-like patch using sine and triangle waves into a low pass gate. It took 20 hours to program the NerdSeq to play the part and it's based off of a technique called 'method ' or 'change' ringing, used for church bell ringing in England (and later adopted to other countries). Depending on the size of the church, it can have upwards of 12 individual bells and they have many patterns. The shortest pattern, or change, can run for a few minutes; the longest changes can run up for years if played with every variation. This pattern was written for 6 bells.
The second voice is a square wave that's playing on a subharmonic division of a higher pitch.
The third voice is a drone and provides most of the bass. As the piece is in Em, the bass note is a B; playing the dominant in the bass is a great way to create tension in a piece, as it wants to resolve to the tonic.
