  • Marshall sv20h, Les Paul, 59 Bridge Pickup, Classic Rock

    Hi Everyone
I have not done much playing for the last several years but I recently got this little Marshall sv20h which has a plexi type of sound. Pretty nice. It's a 20 watt amp but it is still way LOUD! This is one of my first attempts to do some recording with it. The speaker is a Celestion Vintage 30 and I used my old Weber Mass attenuator to tame the volume while getting some medium crunch. The bridge pickup is a Duncan 59. Since this recording, I've changed the speaker, the attenuator and the pickup haha some things never change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM6oaf-ssvE

I still have my 77 LP, currently with a C5 in the bridge and a PG in the neck. Pretty versatile for 70s and 80s tones. I like the pickup combo with this amp but I'm curious about the Saturday Night Special for the bridge. Also, with all of the pickup swapping I've done, I've not tried the Antiquities yet. I also use a Tone King Iron Man attenuator with the Marshall. It was pricey but it's really nice for cranking the amp with minimal tone loss.
