  • Seriously: Where do you plug in?

    for A/C power?

Seriously. Do you plug your musical equipment into outlets that are on different circuits from your computer? The same? A bit of both?

Why? Pros and Cons of each approach?

I do design work for what is probably the highest end audio boutique in the CONUS. Needless to say, I seperate everything as much as possible, and even have those mojo-filled cables and power conditioners people talk about.

You want as little noise on the audio signal as possible. Refrigerators, televisions, air conditioning systems, lights on dimmers, and computers wreak havoc with audio.

Not trying to highjack but it is relevant to all reading

      twilight,
How much noise can an amp produce being on the same curcuit as a computer? How much will the conditioner remove?

That really is not a hijack; it's what the thread is about.

I just plug into a power strip along with my radio.

I use a different AC line than the PC. Though admittedly itīs chance, dictated by space considerations.

All my gear gets plugged into a Furman Regulator. It's in the two space rack on top of the tweed amp in the corner of the room (under the green PRS / green towel).

                THREAD HIJACK:

Alec- That looks like a Behringer bass amp in the left of the picture. I think I have the exact same one. What do you think of it? I found it to be quite impressive for the price.

It's a good buy for the $$$. I don't play much bass but it holds its own in a jam situation. I'm not so keen on a lot of Behringer's stuff but the bass amp and the MIDI foot controller seem pretty good.
