  • SH-6 Ducan Distortion clips?

    Hey,

Im looking to buy an SH-6 Duncan Distortion for my Les Paul in the near future but want to be 100% sure thats the one i want to buy. It will be put in the bridge position. Is there anybody out there who has this pickup in the bridge position of their Les Paul and has some sound clips to offer so i can have a listen? Im looking for a range of clips, ranging from some rhythm to some lead too. Oh and just one more thing i play mainly metal e.g. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Trivum etc. but also some less heavier stuff e.g. Guns N' Roses etc.

I would appreciate any input from you guys out there.

    Cheers
    \m/ Tom \m/

Well, I don't have any clips in a Les Paul, unfortunately. However, check the link in my signature, and you'll find several clips in other guitars.

"Conquer All" was done with an SH-6 in the bridge of a Schecter C-1 Classic. Both JCM 900 clips were an SH-6 in a Fender Stratocaster with a Floyd.

Dru, is there any way you could label which guitar was used for which clip? I like the layout of the webpage, but would like to know more than just what amp was used. I know that was the point of the page, but still. The guitar and pickups definitely affect what tone will come out of the amp.

It's not in my Paul, but I have it in my Ibanez RG550. Here's a song using that axe with a Line 6 Flextone I head (I think on the modern hi gain/soldano setting) through a Carvin 4-12" with celestion greenbacks. The guitar was used on the rhythms and leads.

as an aside, I remember trying out a JB before the distortion and being highly disappointed for metal applications. I know other people dig it for metal, but it was way too tame and smooth for metal IMO.
