  • I was just playing "chicken" with the mods. wanted to see if I had the stones to let it go to ten posts. I choked.

Look for more of this from me in the future...New game: Moderator Chicken. For the record - this is NOT a good idea.
Ive been meaning to get back to you on that request about my Youtube. Theres nothing there really, just one clip im embarrased to share.
Yes, but it was never the intended neck pickup and I had to rout the front cavity substantially deeper to make it phit. It actually sounds very good alone and even better mixed with the JD in the bridge ... both in series and in parallel.

I am having MJ wind me a A5 + A2 Phat Cat to 7.5k that will eventually take over the neck position.

Thanks for the compliment on the Tele. It was my first refinish job and it is still incomplete (I haven't finished clear coating the back).
Dude, that Tele in your avatar looks freakin' amazing. Is that a Phat Staple in the neck?

Really nice job with that. :beerchug:
Any help I can give on the circuit stuff I'm more than willing to give. That doesn't mean I'll know the answer(s), but at least we can try to figure it out.
Thank you, brother. I closed the thread before it could be corrupted like the other one.
Hey man! I actually saw the TimeLine giveaway in my Premier Guitar PG Perks email. But thanks for reminding me to enter! I'll go do it now before I forget. :)
I totally got it! You were doing the grandiose, clear thinker pose. I didn't mean to play the cute card .... I was trying to bring in the grandfather thing from a few days ago.
No fair playing the cute card! How can I compete with that?

And I was going for hilarious with that post, so hopefully that's what you (and everyone else) got out of it.
Yeah ... I guess there's no telling how many different people (or who) filled the spots as things were kinds crumbling at the end. Well ..... it's really cool he had that opportunity!

That jug was a unique sound.
I think "Charles" was in the band after their heyday. I'm pretty sure he filled at shows after Tommy had left. I'll ask him when I see him. AlleeCat
I can't imagine during what period your boss played jug for them because there is no documentation of any jug player other than Tommy Hall. At least Tommy played on all the recordings and during their heyday in Texas and on the West coast.

I rarely run into anyone who has ever heard of them or Bubble Puppy. When we got to the gig w/ BP they were already set up and apparently had done one soundcheck earlier in the afternoon. Long before the doors opened and shortly after our warmup, they walked out onto the stage, picked up their instruments and started "Elizabeth". No click, no counts, no nothing. They were the tightest band I have ever heard. I went on a website (or myspace or whatever) of Todd Prince (one of the guitarists), and he said they practiced for 10 or 12 hours every day for about a year before their first gig. I may be remembering it wrong, but it was something outlandish like that.
I saw your post about openning for the Thirteenth Floor Elvevators, just had to tell you that my boss for the last 25 years, Charles V. played jugg in the Elevators!!! Hadn't heard anyone mention the Elevators or Bubble Puppy in a longtime! AlleeCat
Well, I don't have a toaster. I have a coffee pot, but I never drink coffee anymore so it's put up. There is usually some type of pot or pan on the stove and of course there's always some dishes in the sink it seems.
Trust me man, my kitchen isn't that clean all of the time. I had just cleaned it right before I took that picture.;)
Hahaha I do it, too! Sometimes, the comment is just so appropriate to the thread that I can't resist.
