how should i wire my smb4a pickup into a bartolini 2.4 preamp? i want the bass to sound real real punchy, like an alkaline trio, rise against or thursday. also if i do choose the series path, how do i "insulate" the red and white wires that i would solder together? please help !!

bass preamp selection, okie so im gonna put a preamp into this dan armstrong, but what kind should i use with the smb4a? right now theres only room for 2 pots, vol and tone, but i can route one more in for a total of 3 pots + the output jack. im not sure if different preamps are better for...
