Just got an Alnico II Pro neck...

Installed it in my PRS SE Bernie Marsden and it sounds awesome! I was torn between the 59, A2Pro and Slash A2Pro but I went with the regular A2Pro with nickel covers. I has the warmth and clarity that I was searching for. I paired it with a Mike Turk Hot 59 bridge pickup. They're a match made in...

    NGD! PRS SE Bernie Marsden

PRS has greatly improved their SE line since its introduction. I've been lusting for a PRS SE but the finish of the Singlecuts and Custom 24 SEs left me disappointed. Then they released the Bernie Marsden signature guitar. Honestly, I never knew much about Bernie Marsden until I stumbled upon...

    Time for a pedalboard thread

Re: Time for a pedalboard thread I have this DIY pedalboard with a Pumaboard look and PT Mini dimensions. It only contains the amp footswitch and a Bogner Ecstacy Blue. I don't think I need other pedals right now but an addition of a delay pedal would be nice.

Bit the bullet. Ordered a Bogner Blue.

For the past few weeks, I'm undecided in getting either the Red or the Blue. But since I recently got a Suhr Riot, I've been satisfied with the high gain tones I've been getting from it. So i ordered a Bogner Blue. It should be here in about 2 weeks. :D

    NPD: Wampler Ecstasy

I was supposed to order the new Barber Gain Changer but this came up at the used section for a really good price. I love the Smooth and Crunch modes. It can get that smooth, supposedly Dumble tone, yet articulate tone. The crunch mode reminds me of the OCD at some point. I did not care for the...

    New case day!

I went to some local music stores to looks for a Fender tweed hardcase or something similar to it. I did not find any tweed covered cases. Then I stumbled upon this case from my local Tokai dealer. It's not tweed covered but I snagged it at once because I really needed a case for my tele at that...

NGD. 1983 Ibanez Artist Semi Hollow

I scored this 1983 Ibanez AS80 last week. The previous owner had no plans of selling it but I talked him into selling it to me. At his house, we plugged it through vintage Fenders amps (HEAVENLY SOUNDING AMPS!)...I think we first used a 70's Twin Reverb, and then a 73 Super Reverb.. Lastly, he...

    NPD Strymon El Capistan

It's been a while since I last bought a pedal. A while back, I sold my TC Nova Repeater because it was too heavy for me. It's a good pedal but I wanted something else with a little less features. I couldn't use all the delay types in the TC NR. So off I hunted for a delay pedal until I stumbled...

Brass Saddles and Tone Cap upgrade

It's been a while since I've been looking for brass saddles to replace the steel saddles on my telecaster. I've been reading lots of reviews on various bridge and saddle assemblies from Sung Il, Wilkinson, Gotoh, Fender, RS Guitarworks, Rutter's, Callaham and Glendale. A lot of people praise the...

    Cheap pedal score

I went to a local music store to try out the Joyo pedals. Apparently these are clones of some expensive pedals. They feel cheap and light. The switches and jacks feel like they wouldn't last very long. What I did like was the sound that came from them. I tried a Sweet Baby Overdrive and the Us...

    NPD...and it's green!

First time to actually own a tubescreamer. I feel like a guy who's been living under a rock. I've owned quite a few overdrive pedals and I've tried a few TS pedals (Ibanez TS808 and Maxon OD808) but I haven't really owned one. Anyways, here it is. It's a Maxon OD9 and I like how it does not have...
