    Katana to Fender Champion?

I have two Boss Katanas that I have been using for the past few years. (One a 100 single speaker, the other a smaller Katana 50.) I have been pretty satisfied with the tones I can make on the Katana, but I think i'd like to try a Fender Champion 40. I play Classic Rock, 60's - 90's stuff...

Describe this "Tone" - Video Clip

Hi guys! I put this post here in the Pickup Lounge, because I feel it has most to do with pickups. I do realize there is a LOT that goes into creating a specific "tone," other than just pickups, but I really like the sound of this guys guitar. So again, how would you describe this tone? Here's...

    Are Fender Noiseless Pickups Active???

I bought a loaded Fender pickguard with "Vintage Noiseless" pickups and I have never got it to sound right... Too twangy for my taste. Although THAT ISSUE - (too twangy,) bothers me, I just watched a youtube video where a guy is working on an Eric Clapton signature 'Blackie,' and he said, "These...

Make Your Own GraphTech Type Saddlws

Hey Guys, As I'm looking at GraphTech Saddles for Strat I am seeing that they have basically just painted some substance on the saddle where the string rests. What is that substance/paint/magical material? and I was wondering if anybody has successfully "made their own" saddles? Not actually...

    Custom Gauge Electric String Set?

Greetings O' Wise Ones. - Hey I made a 4 string "Tenor" electric guitar for my wife. She typically plays Bass, but finger injuries in the past make it hard to play. So, the tenor electric is a normal guitar sized "Bass" which is easier for her to play. It is tunes just like her bass in 440...

Trade my BOSS FS-7 foot switch for your FS-6?

Guys, I have a Boss FS-7 and would like to trade it for a FS-6. The FS-7 has the foot switches on top of each other vertically. I like them side-by-side like the FS-6. Even trade for pedal in good condition. Mine is brand new. Glen

Single Coils sound SHRILL like breaking glass!

I am so discouraged. I bought a newest generation Fender Vintage Noiseless loaded plate and it sounds like crap. It doesn't matter if I have the pups way up, or flush with the plate, ANY mid to high tones have this shrill glass shattering noise that I HATE! - I have two other Humbucker only...

Bridge Angle - Blocking off a Strat Tremolo Bridge

If I block off a standard Fender Strat Trem Bridge System, do I want the bridge FLAT on the body, or just a tipped up a bit? I'm leaning towards putting it flat because I want the front screws that hold the bridge to be tightened all the way. Is this good logic? let me know, Glen

CALLING ALL Fender Strat Noiseless Pickup Owners!

Guys I bought a set of 'Vintage' Noiseless Srat pickups! They are in the mail headed this way, but I'm wondering what I should expect from them? OBVIOUSLY they should be... noiseless, but is that all I'll get? DO they sound any better than just plain ole' 'vintage' Strat pickups? They are brand...

    Fender Noiseless - Help Identifying

Hey guys, I'm considering buying a loaded pickguard for sale on line. The guy got the pickguard in a lot of various guitar parts and he's not sure WHICH Strat Noiseless pickups there are. He verified that they ARE indeed Fender, but doesn't know how old they are. Can anybody see any clues in...

Re: Anybody interested in a SSS Strat 11 hole style ALL S.D. Rails loaded pickguard? Okay folks! Here are ALL of the pics and info concerning this fully loaded SD Pickguard. Probably the main thing I want to point out first is that these SD Rails are of different age so they show an...

Anybody interested in a SSS Strat 11 hole style ALL S.D. Rails loaded pickguard?

Came off my Vintage V6 brand, road-warn looking Strat style guitar. I posted the three pickguards for color contrast. Mine is obviously the middle picture. The pickguard is considered, 'mint green' or 'light mint green' and the pickups are 'parchment' in color. (Due to varying ages, the pickups...
