I was in the same situation 5-6 years ago with a EMG 60/S/S set I had lying around. I found a Godin Exit 22 and they are sounding better than I had expected, perfect match for a 24.75" scale and mahogany body.
Not my guitar but here's a Godin Exit 22.
Nothing to do with your hum, but I would personally put a regular alkaline 9v battery instead of lithium. The reason being that alkaline is discharging more slowly and you will hear it, so you could change it before it cuts abruptly like lithium. Or have a routine to change your lithium...
@Top-L try a set of EMG Retroactive, they have highs like passive pickups. In fact I had the Fat55 set but switch the bridge to Super 77 (same now as a Hot 70 set) because of too much highs, the FAT55 bridge was too much vintage sounding for my taste.
I think Quarter Pound pickups werenamed because of the individual 1/4" alnico 5 magnets.
I know nothing about the QP Tele neck but the obvious would be to measure if the magnets are 1/4"?
Nope sadly, but a used Android phone/tablet is pretty cheap and less risky than being stolen.
I don't know why the iOS version is bluetooth only.
Edit: cannot work on iOS over USB because Katana is not class-compliant.
+1, it's not fun to play seated as it's always sliding.
I know you are 70 miles (what is a mile by the way?) from a music store, but maybe check Ovation's in the classified near you.
John Deere has a trademark on green and yellow agriculture equipment...
Velcro and Aspririn are also trademarked.
Seymour Duncan has patents to protect its IP by the way. Why Dimarzio cannot?
